This book is a conversation
These stories give voice to experiences that often live behind closed doors—in our homes, relationships, churches, families, and within ourselves. Told primarily through first-person narratives, they explore survival, silence, trauma, identity, love, faith, and healing within the Black community.
Some stories may feel familiar. Some may feel uncomfortable. All of them invite us to listen.
The Woman Behind the Words
Cree Charnele is a writer, storyteller, and mental health professional whose work is rooted in truth, healing, and the experiences too often left unspoken in the Black community. Through storytelling, she creates space for the complicated parts of survival—the things we carry, the things we silence, and the things we are finally ready to say out loud.
